Aims of the group:
To develop the skills, experience and plans required to negotiate the larger developments planned for the area
To work with various agencies to develop pilot projects and longer term strategies for building experience and developing approaches to working with employers in the area, (existing and new)
To develop and support training and up-skilling initiatives in the area, based on research of other models around the country e.g. working with new and existing employers to develop relevant skills training programmes and labour market interventions which, on completion, will facilitate local residents to take up employment opportunities.
